Now... Double-breasted has nothing to do with Nandos, KFC or a menage tois. Double-breasted blazers are a sure fire way to make a statement and showcase your personality.

Truth is, it's a bit of a risk because the look must be executed perfectly in order to pull it off.

If the cut,fit,fabric and shade are not on point, then you are doomed,buddy. The length is also crucial... It's not a coat but it's also not a baseball jacket.

The best blazers are without a doubt at thrift stores... Take an hour or two to go have a look, once you find one, holla at the dry-cleaner and a tailor for alterarations.

I recently asked which rappers have next, who will have 2012 in a headlock? I have since seen Cashtime stand up and be counted... They have a strong summer ahead.

As a promoter, I'm always looking for new djs. That hunger and energy that sets the dance floor alight. Truth be told, a lot of dudes think they can Dj but really can't. If my mother watches enough music channels, even she can tell you what tracks to play... It's easy to bump hits.

Being technically sound is key... You must learn how to Dj, you must pay your dues, open and close a party before you turn it up for the main set.

I've seen cats that I thought would be major but they burn out or get distracted. I think the next two big hip-hop djs are Dj Speedsta and Fanatic. Both young, both have killer sets, both don't repeat sets and both look to put in work.

After hearing their one-on-one set recently at ALS, I was even more convinced.

Promoters... Book these ninjaz... Trust me.

New vibes

As a promoter, I'm always listening. I pay attention to my flaws, constructive criticism and great ideas.

Recently there seems to be an older partying fraternity that wants a vibe for themselves. It's important to always remember what my product is, constantly refine it but never forget the basics.

With the death of Steve Jobs, I've realized more than ever the power of branding and building a cult following. Simply put, you can change the can, logo, etc... But the taste of Coca Cola will never change.

The product is the product, only how you market it changes.

As a marketer, the trend must be spotted and I think I see it. There's a 'dry period' between post work and before the club. There's a vibe that's missing where people can have a drink, meal, convo, hear good music but not necessarily get wild and crazy.

Showlove is a hip-hop event but some chilled out house and lounge. The kind of vibe that gives you the option to go home if you're cool or go to the club if you seek the craziness.

The vibe needs to be a weekly Friday... No under 21 and no tough guys. I don't think the vibe requires suits and cocktail dresses(optional) but people do need to look fly and fashionable.

Cocktails specials, great menu, dope music and sexy people...

Altar Ego finishes strong

When we dropped the Altar Ego album, we knew we wanted to go on tour. We pitched our concept to many brands but they didn't budge.

We decided to go ahead and make it happen... No sponsors, just a good plan and great relationships.

The tour has been amazing and tiring. It has been a test, there were many cities when we were fading, but come game time... We were on our jobs.

Thank you to every city, every club, every fan that came out, screamed, sang along, took pictures and bought the album.

Beginning of the tour we had no stockists, only Shesha. We have since locked down Shesha, Look n Listen, CNA, Musica and more... This is all due to support. Thank you

Bang and Olufsen

There seems to be a battle for the best head/earphones.

Beats by Dre, Bose, Senheiser, Skull Candy, etc... I guess it all boils down to personal preference. However, when it comes down to great sound and stylish flair... Bang and Olufsen.

I lost a pair earlier in the year, was fortunate enough to receive another pair for my birthday.

They are very subtle, even the pairs for Skyping.
