The making of the legend

Novak Djokovic is a dude that I've tried to ignore... Impossible. Tennis definitely isn't my game, I played it in primary school, Stefan Edberg was my dude but I soon became an observer when other sports took over.

I'm still a great fan... It's an amazing spectator sport... Titans always clashing. Over the last few years Roger Federer has been my dude... Such class, such composure but ironically his lack of emotion could possibly be the reason why Rafael Nadal has been schooling him.

This seems to me an era of true grit for men's tennis. Fedex needs to go to 'lack of anger' management sessions, he needs to find to locate is aggression and then channel it on the court... He's still my dude.

Truth be told,we love our sports stars for how they carry themselves off the court too. Fedex has always been suave and Nadal has caught up.

Having said that, it will always boil down to the battle on the court and not the battle of their tailors. Djokovic is hands down the very best right now. I'm writing this after watching his interview on CNN and dude is all focus. He has stated that he will win the French Open and complete his career slam.

Such confidence is important. One has to believe in themselves and one also has to instill fear in opponents. Djokovic is technically not as gifted as Nadal and Federer but his improvement over the last 24 months showcases a dude who won't accept that. His heart is the biggest in the game currently and he will continue to improve technically... This is a scary thought.

This is the making of a legend.
