Where are the kwaito acts we grew up on? Every time a Dj plays a kwaito set, things get out of hand... Where are these cats?

One of my jobs as an artist manager, is to ensure that my artist is forward thinking. He has to be thinking beyond this weekend, beyond this month... Beyond this album. He of course has to remain hungry and belief in a long career but the plan has to exist. The plan is based on adjustment... Things change so how do you adapt.

I've had long debates about why 50 is struggling, I believe it's because he simply cannot adjust to not having anyone to beef with. 50 needs a beef... Somebody spark it and we'll have him back.

I've seen promoters come and go. Those who are still here, have adapted. Social networks killed some of the promoters of old. They refused to embrace the new way of releasing information and communicating with one's consumer. They forgot that we cater to 18 to 32 year olds... That market is currently on this blog homie... I have adapted.

You will fall off if you stay in your comfort zone. Michael Jordan came into the NBA as the most athletic human being we'd ever seen. At some point the knees gave in, younger cats were crossing him over and making him look old. MJ adjusted, added a cross-over, developed an unblockable fade-away jumper and talked even more trash. The great ones always adjust.

Whatever it is that you do, study others... Take a little from everyone in order to keep yourself relevant and competitive. Try new things... Don't let your fear conquer you or you will eventually fall off.
