Perils of Democracy

So there you are, driving around Johannesburg in the car that you love. Your car is so clean, it smells good and you look good in it.

You've been driving around for an hour, you're not cruising the streets, you're not checking for chicks, this is not a road trip... You are in desperate need of petrol, homie.

How weird is that? The last week or so Twitter has come in handy as drivers have informed one another as to where they can find petrol... Often seemingly distant and perhaps even dangerous considering that you have ironically drive there.

With unions demanding an 11% wage increase and receiving an offer of 7%, it seems this issue may not be resolved as soon as we had hoped. This is now bound to affect us on a larger scale as general deliveries of goods could be delayed.

There is a huge concern in the medical field. If their deliveries are affected, it could result in many deaths.

These are some of the perils of democracy. Strikes can truly cripple an economy and country. It's great that employees cannot simply dictate but we're also affected by those striking illegally. Homeboy... You can't just strike because your boys are striking. You have to be part of a union.

Middle ground is true democracy. I hope that egos will be set aside and a reasonable consensus will be met. There's a lot on the line. Cats feel under pressure, now they have to get a full tank... Such pressure.
