Battle of the spirits

Vodka changed the game! Remember when the coolest drink in the world was Jack Daniels? I remember I used to love holding it and walking around the club with all that youthful swagger I thought I had. Cheers to the good times!

Something happened though, my Wolfpack and I figured it out way back. You see when you are a tipsy young buck, you end up spending all your chips while macking your little heart out. The girls weren't feeling the whiskey. They wanted Spin and the Storm coolers. So now even though you have a table and you know your bill will stretch your pockets, you have to hit the bar and get her a drink.

What's worse? You now have to try and dance with her and shout in her ear like a maniac... Where's the swagger now, homie?

Vodka changed the game because cats could drink it with women. Women could join them at their table and the vibe became exclusive despite a full club.

Vodka has now become a catalyst for balling in the club along with that champagne, but which vodka? I mean, they all taste the same right?

Truth is they don't, but I've had plenty of opportunities to sample the spirit in my line of work.

There are plenty of great vodkas, but the club battle has generally been between Grey Goose, Ciroc, Belvedere and Absolut. So who wins?

With the amount of product placement and through the line advertising that these brands put out, very few of us know about the actual history behind the brands and whether or not we are actually spending money on quality.

We are sold by hip-hop, cool campaigns and as much as we may deny it... We are sold by swagger.

A little research into the vodkas mentioned above will showcase that Ciroc actually schools them in actual quality and as a marketer, I'd say that Diddy has ensured that they get schooled with the product placement too.

Having said that, it all boils down to preference and I'm a Grey Goose man.

Let it be known that I have a long-standing fear of women who consume whisky... You scare me.

Drink responsibly.
