Health On The Run

Being healthy is not difficult per say, but it's definitely time consuming. Health and exercise require routine and that isn't always easy. Finding the time for healthy meals and snacks isn't easy at all, besides the every Chicken Licken cravings... Fast food is always in your face... In bright neon colours.

I personally do not have working hours like the average nine to fiver. My meals are usually in or in between meetings. The worst place for a diet is when we're in studio or on the road... I am the king of the 'healthier option'... Which isn't necessarily healthy at all.

I figured out how to get my day off to a good start with limited time. All love to the genius that created smoothies. Ironically that genius may stem from laziness but who really cares.

Smoothies are health on the run. The good people of Kauai know how much I appreciate their "Peanut Butter Bomb", but I also love making my own.

My smoothies are healthy, filling and quick. The key is in the prep but you only ever have to do it every few weeks or so.

Firstly get a good blender... Doesn't have to be expensive, Clicks has cheap and sturdy ones. Secondly get some whey protein. Protein isn't just to get you buff, it keeps you lean if that's what you want... We all need some sort of muscle tone.

Lastly, stock up on berries... Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. Berries are great because you can keep them frozen. From vitamin A to zinc, berries will keep you in top form.

Quite simply, take two handfuls of berries, have them already mixed together in a container of your choice, add one scoop of whey protein about 100ml of water just for consistency. Blend for about thirty seconds, pour into a tall glass and you're good to go.

Enjoy
